The XTran nodes come in different types, which allow to build end-to-end MPLS networks. This means that protection and traffic engineering can be guaranteed down to the lowest level in the network. All nodes are hardened for harsh environments. Any topology can be constructed with the XTran portfolio.
Redundancy is key in order to maximize network availability. Common control, switching fabric and power modules can all be duplicated, network synchronization, MPLS tunnels and pseudowires can be protected. Obviously, this results in spectacular service availability figures.
